X-Men: The Last Stand is no Rocky III or Superman III, but it definitely isn�ââ?ìâ?ât a Return of the Jedi either. As a film, it is a decent summer action flick with all of the ingredients, Action, Comedy, and Mutant Superpowers. As a sequel to two of the most beloved comic adaptations of all time, and personally two of my favorite movies of all time, this film is just a complete failure and does not do either of the films the justice they deserve.
Amidst a ton of controversy concerning the timing of the source material, United 93 makes its way to theatres this weekend as the first of several movies due out in 2006 focusing on the tragedy of September 11, 2001. While I am sure the controversy surrounding the film will cause many movie goers to shy away, in my honest opinion, they would be missing one of the most powerful movies to hit cinemas in the last 20 years.
